Food intolerance tests, such as those for lactose or fructose, assess specific and measurable digestive problems, usually due to enzyme deficiency or absorption difficulties. These tests are standardised and widely accepted in the medical field. On the other hand, food sensitivity tests, such as ALCAT or A200, are based on the detection of non-specific reactions of the body to certain foods, related to inflammatory processes or mild immune responses. These tests do not have the same degree of scientific consensus and are not as validated as digestive intolerance tests.
